Lamb in Rice Crust

Ingredients

  • 500 g lamb
  • 300 g rice
  • 1 large onion
  • 2 garlic cloves
  • 1 carrot
  • Spices to taste (salt, pepper, cumin)
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 700 ml water

Preparation

  1. Prepare all ingredients. Cut the lamb into pieces, finely chop the onion and garlic, and grate the carrot.
  2. In a deep skillet, heat the vegetable oil. Sauté the onion until golden brown.
  3. Add the lamb and fry until browned.
  4. Add the carrot and garlic, then add the spices. Stir and simmer for a few minutes.
  5. Pour in the water and bring to a boil. Reduce the heat, cover, and cook for 1 hour.
  6. Add the rice, stir, and bring to a boil again. Lower the heat, cover, and cook until the rice is done.
  7. Serve hot, garnished with greens if desired.
