Baked Potatoes

zapechennii_kartofel-518239.JPG1. Prepare the ingredients. Thoroughly wash the potatoes and peel them; if using new potatoes, just scrub them well with a brush. Also, wash the lard, and you can use either fresh or salted lard, making sure to remove any excess salt.

zapechennii_kartofel-518241.JPG3. Cut the potatoes in half, not quite through to the end; you can make a wedge-shaped cut to insert a piece of lard. Be sure to salt and pepper the potatoes inside and out, then brush them with vegetable oil for a tasty crust.
zapechennii_kartofel-518243.JPG4. Also, grease a fireproof baking tray with oil, place the potatoes with lard on it, cover tightly with foil, and place it in a preheated oven for 40 minutes at a temperature of 200-215 degrees.
